ROGER ROHATGI (rō-hot-key) Multifaceted
Award-winning independent film producer and screenwriter, TV show co-host and writer, accomplished event emcee, motivational speaker, ordained minister, radio DJ, stand-up comedian, actor, impersonation guru.
Most people would never think such titles as stand-up comedian, ordained minister, and film producer would be together in the same description. Well, meet Roger Rohatgi. Roger is part of a new breed of multifaceted young people that are determined to make an impact in every arena of life. They consider themselves young revolutionaries, refusing to be limited by one label or be put in a box; they are truly overachievers ready to change their worlds. Roger is one of these world-changers. He is into changing paradigms: changing how a minister looks and sounds, giving purpose to a comedian’s jokes and taking the step beyond motivating young people by compelling them to take action to change the course of their lives.
“Change is the only hope we have. We can get better, we can do the right thing, we will succeed, we will have hope, we will change.” - Roger Rohatgi
Roger’s positive and uplifting message is captivating, hilarious, inspirational, life-changing and, well, cool. His delivery is that of a skilled surgeon using humor to numb the wounds in the hearts of young people and then using his emotionally-charged, heartfelt stories of truth that cut right to the problem to bring healing and change.
Roger is well acquainted with the word change. He has experienced it firsthand. Raised by an Indian Hindu father and a Hispanic Christian mother, Roger found himself in the age-old struggle for purpose and identity. His search led him to a lifestyle of drinking, drugs and selling guns. By his senior year in high school, he had hundreds of friends and had made quite a name for himself in every type of crowd. Yet, he was depressed and suicidal. After being arrested at the age of 18 and locked up in a jail cell, Roger had a miraculous encounter that would change his life forever. He was profoundly set free and has never looked back. He began a twelve-year journey of speaking to young people in their language with a message of hope that they could understand.
By the time he was in his mid twenties, Roger had graduated college, attended law school, was licensed into the ministry, organized and spoke at stadium events, schools, camps, retreats, workshops, bible studies and prisons. He also appeared on TV and radio programs and traveled the globe speaking internationally, while mastering the art of using over 300 impersonations in stand-up comedy routines and messages. Nowadays, if you can’t find Roger working on his next film project, acting on a TV show or standing in front of hundreds of awesome teens sharing his story, he is probably having the time of his life with his amazing wife Heather and son, Jordan. |
